Individual Executive Coaching – Professional Services

This boutique global professional services firm was preparing for the second tier of leadership to take over from the founding partners. The talents of the second tier were primarily service focused; the business required greater clarity and development of leadership potential. Coombes Business Coaching designed an assessment and coaching programme for 6 senior leaders that highlighted their strengths and development needs, and provided a 6-month coaching programme focused on maximizing their impact in the business. New capacity for leadership amongst the senior team was discovered, and motivation, commitment and communication improved markedly. A founder of the business is now undertaking a coaching programme with Coombes Business Coaching as the next stage of company development begins.

Induction Coaching

Coombes Business Coaching worked with a major youth charity to support their incoming CEO. The charity had been successful in their bid for major Lottery funding and growth and change required new leadership. The Trustee Board worked with Coombes Business Coaching to define coaching objectives from the charities overall plans. The CEO was coached from induction throughout the first year of his tenure. The charity continues to grow, embracing new ways of working whilst maintaining the strong culture which secured the sustainable funding.

Team Development

This recently merged corporate publishing house was working hard to integrate the senior staff from each company across Europe and North America. As part of a major London meeting, 16 of the most senior leaders spent an evening cooking and eating together in a Central London loft; keen competition, healthy banter and excellent food resulted in former competitors becoming colleagues.The team producing the dessert was awarded the Excellence Trophy for their rendition of the River Café Chocolate Nemesis Cake!

Group Facilitation – Contact Lens Company

This UK based internet contact lens retailer reached a major decision point after 4 years of growth; maintaining its original structure and culture was not feasible for its trajectory. The question was, ‘Which characteristics from it’s inception would lead it to sustainable growth?’. Coombes Business Coaching worked with the founder of the company to identify the key objectives of the business. As with many founder lead businesses, this CEO faced challenging questions as he worked to add new commercial capacity. The result of this work was concerted communication and engagement with the senior management on the development of the company, and a renewed clarity for the company in it’s direction, leadership and cultural imperatives.

Leadership Development Design

A financial institution was spending millions on training across its departments with little central control on quality,value or the recipients of the learning investment. Coombes Business Coaching worked with the company to identify existing or planned training, essential compliance and skill maintenance training, and opportunities for efficiency and quality improvement. A thorough survey was conducted, followed by facilitated meetings to ensure that the needs of the business would be met going forward. Increasing quality and cost effectiveness without losing creative local/departmental control was the focus of the project. Costs were decreased across the board whilst allowing vital variation amongst departments. Creating new methods of coordinating, budgeting and designing training to ensure company wide quality and value in future completed the project. Rebuilt, oiled, fit for evolution  into the future.
